Bucket List!

Just what it sounds like, what I want to achieve at some point during my (hopefully) long life, and what I’ve already managed to cross off in the 25 years I’ve enjoyed.

OVERALL:

  • TRAVEL – it’s broad, yes, but there’s a lot to see in this world and I hope that I always remember this.  I don’t ever want to feel stuck anywhere, or at least I don’t ever want to feel like I can’t leave some place, even if it’s only for a short amount of time.  If I find a place that I truly want to be, that’s different.  But I always want to feel like I can pick up and travel whenever I want to (finances allowing).  At some point, I’d like to set foot in all seven continents, so far I’ve made it to three (North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Australia, Asia, Antarctica).  And make it to the following countries: Turkey, Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, Holland, Italy, Czech Republic, England, Ireland, Scotland, Romania, Greece, Russia, Egypt, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Costa Rica, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Mongolia, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Mexico.
  • CLIMB A MOUNTAIN (or two/three)
  • SEE KOMODO DRAGONS IN THE WILD (they are, of course, one of my most favorite animals)
  • GO TO A CONCERT (The Killers)GO TO A FESTIVAL (Deck the Hall Ball x3, Bumbershoot x3, Summer Sonic x2, Summer Meltdown x2, Capitol Hill Block Party, Timbrrr!) – GO TO COACHELLA, FUJI ROCK, SUMMER CAMP, SASQUATCH, SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST, BONAROO, LOLLAPALOOZA, GLASTONBURY, SHOW AT RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATER
  • SEE THE AURORA BOREALIS
  • ARCHES NATIONAL PARK
  • ACTUALLY SO MANY OF THE NATIONAL PARKS
  • GO SCUBA DIVING/GET CERTIFIED
  • LEARN TO SURF
  • LEARN TO RIDE A MOTORCYCLE (do I have to tell you how awesome it is to know how to ride a motorcycle?  I’m just probably never going to go on the freeway with it.  That shit’s terrifying, and I value my life)
  • LEARN TO DRIVE A STICKSHIFT
  • SEE A SHOW – Catch Me If I Can (ON BROADWAY)
  • ACTUALLY MAKE IT TO NEW YORK FIRST
  • ROAD TRIP THE UNITED STATES
  • BACKPACK THROUGH EUROPE
  • FIND THE LOVE OF MY LIFE – it’s kind of silly to have this on my bucket list.  But the more I think about it, it really isn’t.  Isn’t this really on everyone’s bucket list, but more or less implied?  I mean, nobody I’m sure hopes as a little kid to find someone who they can tolerate, but know aren’t the one.  Nobody wishes and hopes for a future where they’re unhappy.  Maybe I need to remind myself that I should never settle for good enough, I should find and deserve amazing.  Because I’m worth it and I’m awesome. 😛
  • FIND MY “BLISS”
  • LOVE WHAT I DO – these two are essentially the same.  But that doesn’t mean I’m deleting one.  I need the reminder that it’s important to love whatever I decide to do for the rest of my life.  And that I need to figure out what that actually is…
  • DO A MAN V. FOOD LIKE COMPETITION AT A RESTAURANT
  • PRACTICE MY PIE RECIPE (it’s important to know how to cook a mean pie, savory & sweet)

  • GO BACK TO ALASKA IN THE SUMMER
  • VISIT EVERY MLB BALLPARK (thus far – Kingdome, Safeco, O.co Coliseum, Nationals Park)

  • REMEMBER EXACTLY HOW MUCH YOU ENJOY CAMPING (AND THE OUTDOORS)
  • COOK COOK COOK!
  • BUY A BIKE IN THE UNITED STATES (For as much as I complain about having a bike in Japan, I actually love it.  Sure I’ll most likely, eventually, buy myself a car, but I hope I remember that I love biking as well.)
  • RUN A HALF-MARATHON (OR 5KM – Hot Chocolate Runx2, Refuse to Abuse 5k, Black Light Run) (OR 10KM – RNBNBBQ), ENTER THAT ONE RACE WHERE YOU BIKE FROM SEATTLE TO CALI/PORTLAND, Warrior Dash, Tough Mudder
